At only 3 years old, Noah has already faced more challenges than most people experience in a lifetime. Born prematurely at 33 weeks with a rare genetic disorder called Autosomal Recessive Polycystic Kidney Disease (ARPKD), Noah’s journey has been filled with unimaginable obstacles, endless hospital visits, and extraordinary resilience. ARPKD causes fluid-filled cysts to develop in the kidneys and liver, leading to severe complications that have shaped nearly every moment of his young life.

At just 5 weeks old, Noah underwent surgery to remove his first kidney, and at 18 months old, his second kidney was removed. Since then, he has relied on daily life-sustaining hemodialysis treatments to survive. Noah has already endured more than 15 surgeries and continues to undergo monthly procedures as he now waits for a combined liver and kidney transplant.

Nearly 4 years old, Noah has spent most of his life between The Hospital for Sick Children and Ronald McDonald House Charities, with only a handful of months spent at home. Hospital halls and RMH walls are what he knows best — this has been his childhood.

As their stay policy at Ronald McDonald House is coming to an end, Noah and his mother will need to relocate and find other living accommodations near SickKids so Noah can continue receiving the critical care he depends on.

Even after his transplant, Noah and his mother will remain close to SickKids for the unforeseeable future, as his recovery and ongoing medical care could be long and unpredictable. Through every treatment, every surgery, and every difficult moment, Noah has shown incredible strength, while his mother continues to fight beside him with endless love, courage, and faith despite the overwhelming emotional and financial burdens they carry.
